Hospital Emblem

1. The sign is in a circular form, embodying accommodation and professionalism .

2. The entire design is comprised of red, green, blue, yellow and white colors, which makes the general tone pleasing, bright and striking.

3. The main design in the center is composed of the Earth, the Map of China, the Police Emblem, the medical symbol of snake and sword, four red stars and olive branches, which imply respectively as follows:
　　(1) The Earth: Plan of the map of the World, implying that the hospital is opening to the public, to foreigners and for the development of future;
　　(2) The map of China: The whole tone is designed with green, symbolizing the thriving vital force of the Chinese Nation, the health and peace of Chinese children, also implying the green passage for life established by the hospital;
　　(3) Police Emblem: The graphic design for the Chinese People's Armed Police Forces, reflecting the nature and aim of the General Hospital of Chinese People's Armed Police Forces. The Police Emblem on the upper part of the main design embodies the determination of the staff in the hospital to act as loyal guards of the Party and people;
　　(4) Snake and sword: It is the international sign of military medicine. It is chosen to better meet the world medical standards; This sign on the map of China represents the resolve of the General Hospital of the Chinese People's Armed Police Forces to champion peace, improve people's health, benefit human beings;
　　(5) Four red stars: implying affection, patience, carefulness and responsibility of the medical workers. The "green cross", composed of the four red stars, represents that the service purpose of medical work is "patients first". Meanwhile, the red color pattern also indicates strikingly the location of City of Beijing, and the General Hospital of the Chinese People's Armed Police Forces.

4. The two sides of the main design are surrounded by olive branches which symbolize that the Armed Police Forces safeguard peace, well-being and health of human beings.

5. The words "the General Hospital of the Chinese People's Armed Police Forces" surround the main design in the center in both Chinese and English for the convenience of friendly communication with the outside world. They are symmetrical to the olive branches in all directions, thus making the whole emblem look harmonious, plump and beautifully balanced.

6. The whole design is embroidered with blue, showing vividness and elegance and symbolizing bright future and hope.

7. The halo surrounding the main design indicates that the hospital will develop vigorously, and its future will be very promising.

Treatment circumstance of the General Hospital of Armed Police Forces

　　Back to 20 years ago, people did not care the condition of hospital’s treatment circumstance, and tolerated bad attitude from doctors and other staff as they can, for the purpose of receiving effective treatment and life saving. 　　It has a great Taishan Stone with 12.8 meters long, 2.2 meters high and weighed 65 tons at the hospital’s gate, and at its facial side it has 5 sculpted golden Chinese characters of “The General Hospital of Armed Police Forces” written by Mr. Pengzhen, that the conventional handwriting style is compatible with the natural feature of Taishan Stone. The moral of the great stone is: the task of the medical work is “the responsibility of life entrustment weighs over Taishan Mountain”, that indicate medical workers should work hard for patients steadfastly like Taishan Stone.

　　 Capacious and bright hall of the medical building uses light-yellow-color marble as basic decoration style which appears elegant and serene. Obverse side of the hall has an arc stele with sculpted characters of “Uttermost zealousness to comrades and people, Uttermost responsibility for work, Endless demand for technique”, which is a succinct summary of hospital culture and conception. On the right side of the hall, it has a large electronic display screen with continuously played programs of expert introductions and medical characteristics. On the left side of the hall, it has the Hippocratic oath with two languages of Chinese and English, that remind medical workers to work hard, be kind to patient, comply with professional ethics.

　　Hospitalizing guides with uniform in the hall provide service for patients every moment, and there are many other convenient service forms for patients, such as wheel chairs, wheel stretcher, drinking machine, science popularization journals and booklets at hand.In the corridors of the ground floor to the ninth floor of the building, it is appended the figures and introductions of famous doctors at all times and in all over the world, and Nobel Prize winners in physiology or medicine. Medicine memorabilia is written in colorful strips and to be pasted on the steps of the ladders. These appended figures and memorabilia bring culture feature to tedious hospitalization circumstance. A lot of great men such as Bianque, Sun Simiao, Li Shizhen, Hippocrates, Roentgen, Bethune, many findings and inventions such as penicillin, X-ray, Helicobacter pylori, cardiac catheterization, and Nobel Prize winnings, take people the contributions of knowledge and talented man for human health, and present the hospital’s ideology of respecting science, respecting knowledge, respecting talented man, using scientific glory and strength to encourage medical workers to pursue good reputation, to benefit mankind.

　　Underside of all the stair handrails are decorated by transparent glass, carved with “let soldiers and people satisfy” which is demand for us and promise for patients. The “Taiji pattern” matched floors in the hall and elevators give expression to the soul of Chinese age-old philosophy of “human integrate into universe to be together harmoniously”, which is the hospital’s management ideology and good blessing to patient. 　　There is a unique designed gallery connecting the out-patient building and new medical building together which is beautiful scenery and becomes symbol building of the hospital. The gallery is decorated by deep green and metal-silvery that presents the harmony and modern meanings, of which the deep-green color represents “convenient and express” green way. The center of the gallery expands to be a crown shape that encourage doctors to pursue the laurel of medical science. Sprinkled “W” patterns represent the hospital belong to the Armed Policed, and this pattern also means two connected “V” that means the ideology of “both win” if unity and collaboration.

　　Enchased pattern on the obverse side of the shield wall appears simple but elegant, concise and with special meaning. Yanhe water and Pagoda hill symbolize glorious history of “come from Yanhe” of the General Hospital of Armed Police Forces; Mao Zedong’s epigraph of “heal the wounded and rescue the dying, carry out revolutionary humanitarianism” is eternal mission of medical workers; a golden sun on the top right represents the luciferous future. The basal seat of the shield wall is made of granite which has natural sculpt and unvarnished feature that means medical worker should has strong basic knowledge.

　　Major feature of the new building is giving the maximal space to patient from the limited volume. There are only 3 beds in one ward equipped with 42-inche hanging LCD TV set. It provides hot water for shower in toilet for 24 hours everyday. Each patient has a store cabinet and shoe cabinet. Supporting facilities of the ward almost reaches the level of the standard room of star-hospital but with only 28 Yuan charge for one bed. On the treatment strip of patient bed, it is equipped with not only oxygen supply, vacuum aspiration, call device, but also earphone and upper and lower bed-light, that is introduced from the idea of aviation management service. Patients can avoid influence from each other with earphone while watching TV. All the methods pursue international trend of “family-like and hotel-like” in hospital. Besides, there are two-bed ward and VIP ward to match the need of high-level consumers.
　 The worktable of nurse station is designed as two parts, high and low, to facilitate patients in wheelchair and child to communicate with doctors and nurses. The worktable is introflexed that is designed to consider the natural shape and comfort feeling while people stand.Inner side of the crash prevention zone in the corridor is set with handrail light, which could help patient in convalescence stage practice walk, and also present a weak and soft light strip. It looks beautiful and warm like a scenery line in ward at night.

　　High-level vitrified tile is used to paste all the ward walls, for the purpose of easy cleaning and final disinfection to keep clean. Natural ventilator is equipped in every ward with 24-hour natural air supply. There are 15 elevators in total, divided to different functions, special for staff, patient, visit, food supply, operation, filth disposal. Considering the need of parking for hospitalization and visit, there has 350 parking spaces. From above, “patient as the center” is not an empty talk, but performed in details.

　　Operating room and ICU adopted seamless connection technique and integration design with rational process. Clean and filter system introduced advanced Germany equipment, which is divided to 3 levels, i.e. hundred level, thousand level and ten thousand level. A specially assigned negative-pressure operating room for the operation of infected wound reached international standard in whole.
　 The light apple-green-color wall and roof at operating room is a result of taking into consideration the patient’s nervous status in operating room. This quietly elegant tone could make people feel warm, quiet, pleasure, give patient soft sense stimulation, buffer and adjusting, that also presents medical humanism care.
　 ICU is a gathering place of the hospital’s risky and severe patients that reflects modern treatment and rescue technologies in and out of China which can perform full intensive monitoring and intensive treatment and rescue on patient. It is at advanced level on personnel, occupying area and function establishment in Beijing, even in China.
　 Specially set family waiting room and family accompanying room not only show solicitude for patient’s family, but also facilitate hospital’s management. The family member could visually talk to patient after analepsia that stop the situation of isolation between patient in ICU and his family, presenting human-oriented hospitalization circumstance.
