Dr. Zhongyang Shen, director of Institute of Liver Transplantation, chief physician, professor, advisor of doctors of medicine, a famous domestic expert of liver transplantation, got his doctor degree of medicine of NIHON University in 1998. In May 1994, he presided over orthotopic liver transplantation operation on the patient who is now surviving and keeps the longest record for the survival time after liver transplantation operation in Mainland China. The team led by him has created many first records in the total case number of operation, successful operation rate, postoperative survival rate, etc. in the field of liver transplantation in China. Discipline Union of Liver Transplantation and Transplantation Center, being the largest at home and larger internationally has made outstanding contributions for career of liver transplantation in China.
